Jim Howell
president, environmental professional, senior market analyst
Jim Howell has consulted and worked with Gibson Consulting, LLC & Gibco Environmental, LLC since 1998. In fact, he initially trained Ford Gibson (Founder of Gibson Consulting, LLC). in the preparation of affordable rental housing market studies and shortly thereafter, his firm became the top market study firm in Louisiana as well as a success in many other states. Then in 2004, Mr. Howell began working directly preparing market studies and environmental reports with Ford & Gibson Consulting, LLC and later GIBCO Environmental, LLC.
He has performed hundreds of Phase I ESAs, Market Studies, Capital Needs Assessments and other third party reports. Drawing on his experience as a developer and consultant to developers, Jim provides technical expertise and assistance to all of the company’s principals and clients. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1980. He is qualified as an Environmental Professional (EP) under ASTM E-1527-21 and Environmental Protection Agency’s All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) Rule.

Our beginnings
Ford Gibson
With an extensive background in construction, real estate, and HUD projects, Ford Gibson’s attention turned to the importance of the environmental and marketing aspect of housing projects. In 1999, he started Gibson Consulting, LLC to meet this need. Beginning with Environmental Site Assessments, he soon provided Market Studies to developers who were making application to housing agencies for funding. He next added Noise Surveys and Capital/Physical Needs Assessments to his company’s services.

Gibson Consulting, LLC was founded on Ford’s belief that God had guided him to set up and develop his company. He believed that not only did God bless him through his work and associations, but that he was able to help his clients prosper and be successful in their projects. Thus, Jeremiah 29:11 was the foundational verse for all he did and sought to do and continues to guide our companies today.
